An agency is the sum of its people – and 53% of Publicis is female. Meet the group that is Driving Change.

Last year’s introduction of the Time’s Up Advertising mission was a big wake up call for people across our industry. Diversity and Inclusion are essential to any successful agency. And if we’re going to tackle the issues our industry faces, it’s going to take dedication and hard work. So, we’d like to introduce an internal group at Publicis called “Driving Change.”

Driving Change is a group of women and men at Publicis who meet on a regular basis to identify, discuss and action the key issues that the agency faces when it comes to Diversity and Inclusion, with a focus on gender-based bias.

A fitting week to announce the group’s efforts was the week of March 8th, extending International Women’s Day to International Women’s Week. The full week allowed the agency to delve into some key issues as it relates to diversity and inclusion, and to celebrate the women of Publicis.

We kicked International Women’s Week off with gender diversity and inclusion expert, Dr. Rumeet Billan who spoke about Unconscious Bias and how that impacts gender diversity and inclusion efforts. Dr. Billan presented to the entire team at Publicis Toronto, including a live stream for Publicis Windsor. Her talk was also distributed digitally following the keynote.

To add to the celebratory nature of the week, we wanted to celebrate the 188 women who work at Publicis. To bring it to life, we took headshots of all female employees, which appeared as an installation throughout the office.

Finally, the week culminates on International Women’s Day with a workshop to discuss how to proactively combat bias and create a more inclusive workplace.
