Publicis Groupe is bringing all seven of its Montréal agencies under one roof, located in the city’s emerging Mile-Ex neighbourhood. The agencies are Publicis Montréal, Martel & Cie, Nurun, Spark Foundry, Zenith, MSL and North Strategic.
Although each agency will have its own staff and clients, the ‘Pool’ will create working groups that can draw on the 300 employees from all seven agencies, depending on the campaign and skill sets required. No changes to headcount or senior roles are expected.
To lead the transition, Rachelle Claveau (President of Publicis Montréal) and Christian Ayotte (President of Nurun Montréal) will act as co-ambassadors. “It’s the proximity that’s super important,” Claveau says. “We’re going to be building teams with the best people, no matter what banner they sit under.”
Says Duncan Bruce, President and CEO of Publicis Canada, “Transformation is a huge buzzword, and the transformation for a communications company is to have those disciplines sitting at the same table at the same time.”
For clients, having a more holistic view should create a more efficient, consistent consumer experience and make the most out of brands’ budgets. And employees will have the opportunity to expand their skills and point of view.
Bruce says that Publicis Groupe is pushing the ‘Pool’ model on a global scale: “I believe it’s the way forward. This isn’t something that is going to just be in Montreal. I think the traditional agency cannot exist without this type of transformation.”
