Publicis Groupe Canada Implements Diversity & Inclusion Mandate

Publicis Groupe is proud to have recently appointed Stephanie McRae as the Head of Diversity & Inclusion. Working alongside Mia Pearson and Brent Nelsen, the team will shape a Mandate that will help create a more diverse and inclusive workplace environment within the Canadian Groupe.

Already, the team has come up with a Diversity and Inclusion plan focusing on the following four pillars;

Education: All employees, current and new, will receive unconscious bias and anti-racism training, plus access to a quarterly speakers’ series to help continue the education.

Outreach: To create a pipeline of talent and ensure that all feel welcome and included, we will share information about our industry with schools and organizations that work to improve diversity and inclusion. Working alongside HR, we will reach out to marginalized communities and help create pathways for internships and new hires.

Talent Management: Our people are our greatest asset. We want to create an environment where everyone has room to grow and advance their careers, all with the help of our HR department.

Giving back: Leveraging the wide range of talent within Publicis Canada, we will provide pro bono work and creative talents to assist organizations working in diversity and inclusion.

The first set of initiatives to be implemented will focus specifically on anti-black racism. In addition, we will work toward more representation for all marginalized groups within Publicis Groupe Canada and create initiatives to ensure women, Black, indigenous, people of colour (BIPOC) and the LGBTQ+ community feel included within the Groupe.

These are just the first steps on a long road, but it’s a journey we embark on with pride and with an eye toward creating real, positive and lasting change.
