STAYING UNITED WHILE PHYSICALLY DISCONNECTED

Advertising is a social industry. We rely on conversations to generate ideas, solve problems and deliver the best possible solutions to our clients. So how do we stay connected while facing the unprecedented challenge of COVID-19?

Naturally our first priority is to keep our people at home, safe and supported. Our next priority is to keep our business running as smoothly as possible. Which means staying as close as possible, even when we can’t be in the same room.

Virtual meetings have skyrocketed. Zoom and Microsoft Teams are our new best friends. We’ve become intimately familiar with the interior of our colleagues’ homes (or at least their home offices).

And if we can’t recreate the social atmosphere of 400 people in the same building, we can provide tools to make this time more enjoyable – even fun:

  • WFH selfies on @pubunited Instagram, tagged with #unitedfromhome
  • Collaborative music playlists on Spotify and Apple Music to keep our collective energy up
  • ‘Tuesday Night at the Barre’ ballet-inspired fitness classes from resident ballerina Mallory Cheung on Instagram Live
  • ‘Weekly Wednesday Stretch’ classes from our in-house yogi Andrea Pilkington on Skype
  • Monthly Last Call with music from DJ Nakz on Instagram Live (and plenty of virtual watch parties with drinks in hand)

It’s a difficult time, but we’re facing it together. The spirit and creativity of Publicis thrive no matter where we are. And we’ll do whatever it takes to stay positive and connected until we can return to our collective homebase.
